What We Have To Offer.

Dallas Restorative Dentistry.

Restoring your smile for best function and pleasing look can have immediate and long term benefits.  With a better look and feel, your smile can function properly for a lifetime.

  • Natural Looking, Tooth Colored Fillings
  • CEREC Dental Crowns (Same Day Crowns)
  • Dental Bridges & Dentures
  • Dental Implants
Tooth colored fillings can be used to replace of extensive amalgam (metal) or composite fillings. The enamel-like material looks and feels more like your real teeth and helps restore teeth to their original strength. Because it is metal free, it has a more natural look and feel, and  can help preserve healthy, natural tooth structure. As with most fillings, replacement fillings can be completed within one visit.

We know your time is valuable. That’s why we’ve invested in CEREC digital technology that allows for a faster experience when you need crowns or large fillings.

CEREC is a revolutionary way to restore damaged teeth in a single visit. From simple fillings to full crowns to veneers, CEREC delivers the results you need right here in our office, usually within a single appointment. Making your teeth beautiful, and stronger than before.

Compared to other options:

In the course of one visit, we can diagnose and prepare your damaged tooth, create an optical impression of the tooth, and use CEREC to design and mill a precision restoration, which is then permanently bonded to your tooth. No metal, impressions, discomfort or the need for additional appointments.

Dental bridges can help you achieve a natural looking smile after losing one or more teeth.Traditional dental bridges consist of a porcelain replacement tooth and two porcelain crowns. To keep the replacement tooth firmly in place, the two porcelain crowns are placed over the teeth directly adjoining the space where the replacement tooth will be placed. After the crowns are in place, the porcelain replacement tooth is set in its proper location and attached to – or “bridged” between – each of the crowns.

In addition to traditional dental bridges, Dr. Potts also offers implant-supported dental bridges. This type of bridge is supported by dental implants, which have been placed surgically within the jaw. Implant-supported dental bridges are much stronger than traditional bridges. They are permanent and left in all day and night.

If you are seeking a replacement for one or more missing teeth, I’d be happy to help you determine if a dental bridge would be right for you.

For many generations, removable dentures and fixed bridges were the only options for replacing teeth lost as a result decay, injury or gum disease. Dental implants offer a more comfortable and natural looking alternative. With dental implants, you can go about your life without having to pay any more consideration to your dental implant or implants than you would your natural teeth. Dental implants do not irritate the gums nor interfere with chewing, taste or speech. Unlike removable dentures, dental implants allow you to chew any and all types of foods.

Dallas Cosmetic Dentistry.

A great smile can boost confidence and really change a person’s outward appearance.  A chipped or discolored tooth might not seem like a big deal, until it happens to you or a loved one.  We have a variety of options that can not only improve the look of your smile, but the improvements we make will appear natural.

  • Dental Bonding
  • Veneers
  • Contouring & Reshaping
  • Teeth Whitening
Bonding is tooth-colored material used to fill in gaps or change the color of teeth. Requiring a single office visit, bonding lasts several years. Bonding is more susceptible to staining or chipping than other forms of restoration. Additionally, it can be used to close spaces between teeth or cover the entire outside surface of a tooth to change its color and shape.
Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic placed over the front teeth to change the color or shape of your teeth. Veneers are used on teeth with uneven surfaces or are chipped, discolored, oddly shaped, unevenly spaced or crooked. Little or no anesthesia is needed. Veneers are used to treat some of the same problems as bonding.

Porcelain veneers require more than one visit because they are hand crafted by our talented lab technician. Veneers have a longer life expectancy and color stability than dental bonding.

Tooth reshaping and contouring, is a procedure to correct crooked teeth, chipped or irregularly shaped teeth or even overlapping teeth in a single session. Tooth reshaping and contouring, is commonly used to alter the length, shape or position of your teeth.

This procedure is ideal for candidates with normal, healthy teeth but who want subtle changes to their smile.

Discoloration occurs in the enamel and can be caused by medication, coffee, tea and cigarettes. Discoloration also can be hereditary or due simply to getting older.there are many in office or at home treatments we can discuss, depending on what would work best for your individual needs and goals. Treatment typically begins by creating a custom mouthpiece to ensure the correct amount of whitening solution is used and that your teeth are properly exposed. Typically, whitening at home takes two to four weeks, depending on the desired shade you wish to achieve.

Teeth Cleanings (Prophylaxis) & Oral Screenings.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.  Your health is our top priority, and because oral health affects overall health, we want to keep your smile healthy. We offer dental screenings, cleanings, guidance and many treatment options to do just that.

Having your teeth cleaned regularly helps prevent gingivitis, tooth decay, and loss of enamel from teeth. The type of cleaning you will need depends on the extent of the plaque and tartar buildup on your teeth. If buildup is extensive — which can result in inflammation of the gum tissue and some bone loss — a deep cleaning may be required.

Gums and teeth benefit from regular brushing and flossing, but dental plaque and stains build up on tooth surfaces over time.  Hard deposits can cause decay and that brushing, rinsing, and flossing alone can’t remove. Professional dental cleanings are one of the simplest preventive measures that can help you maintain and enjoy a lifetime of good oral health.

We understand you are busy, and our staff can determine if more than a basic exam and screening x-rays are necessary, and we can discuss more comprehensive care options and more diagnostics, if needed.

Prevention and education are two of the most important aspects of a successful dental plan. As a part of our advanced dental hygiene services, we have various evaluations for your oral health to help determine your level of risk for diseases like tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancer.  Some of the screenings we use to help keep you healthy are:

Health history screening

Oral-Cancer Screening

An oral cancer examination is fast and painless. We have been specially trained to identify small changes in the tissue of the mouth, lips and tongue that may signify the early stages of this type of cancer. The screening is primarily a visual and tactile (touch) examination. If we note any abnormalities, a small tissue sample can be retrieved for further testing in a laboratory.

Occlusal & TMJ screening (Bite & Jaw Assessment)

We not only take care of teeth and gums, we also can ensure the health of your jaw by diagnosing and treating a temporomandibular joint (jaw) disorder. Patients with  TMJ misalignment, can suffer facial, jaw, neck, and shoulder pain; earaches; headaches; and jaw clicking and popping; and the inability to fully open or close their mouth.

Caries Risk Screening

Tooth decay is typically symptomless until there’s already a cavity or a tooth abscess (an infection at the root of a tooth or in the gums), both of which can lead to pain and tooth loss if left untreated. Prevention of tooth decay is our primary focus in retaining healthy teeth.

Periodontal Screening

Research has also shown, and experts agree, that there is an association between periodontal disease and other chronic inflammatory conditions, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and respiratory diseases. Therefore, it is very important to treat the inflammation that causes periodontal disease as soon as possible to ensure that your entire body stays healthy.

When Dr. Potts or our professional dental hygienist performs this evaluation, we will look at these six areas to determine the state of your periodontal health: Teeth, plaque, gums, bite, bone structure and risk factors.

X-Rays and Panoramic X-Rays

Because teeth are bones, they are much easier to diagnose with the use of X-Rays. We digital x-rays and also use of Panoramic X-Rays that give us a picture of the entire jaw.

Bite Guard

Bite guards, also called night guards or Occlusal splints, help protect teeth at night from clenched jaws and teeth grinding. Custom-made guards are also great for protecting fillings, crowns, bridges and implants. We can find you the right bite guard to prevent these problems from leading to rapid teeth wear and headaches.
